IN THE NAME OF THE FATHER
AND OF THE SON
AND OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. AMEN.
“For several years it has become for open discussion, to reveal that one considers himself or herself a Christian. This word is spoken in a manner that avoids a definite area of Christianity, or avoids defining what the individual believes makes him or her a Christian.
In many ways, when the statement is made, it immediately speaks of a commitment to believing in God, or sometimes in the manner it is spoken, it appears to say that the individual has joined in the belief of Jesus.
There are so many denominations of Christianity, and in these there are some that are based on an individual’s interpretation on what Christianity means. Those who follow this type of Christianity could very easily be led into a false interpretation of what sound, true Christianity is based on, and the responsibilities that are involved in it.
The Roman Catholic Church, as well as some other major Christian denominations, have a very Beautiful Sign, that when It is expressed respectfully and in dignity, is an expression of commitment, and that is ‘The Sign of The Cross’, openly made, properly performed in dignity and in exactness. It is sad to see so many who make this Sign in such a slovenly manner, obviously not really thinking of the Importance of what this Sign of The Cross means, depicts, says, and the real purpose behind It.
‘I believe in God, I believe in The Son of God, and I believe in The Third Person of The Holy Trinity.’ The words are simple, the belief ultimate. ‘In the Name of The Father and of The Son and of The Holy Spirit’ is not just a statement, it is a belief, and with this comes a responsibility to more than the words, but there should be a conscious effort at all times to live up to this belief, and this is through obedience to God’s Commandments in Their fullest measure, Their fullest purpose, according to how He intended Them to be obeyed.
Being a Christian is sometimes a security blanket to appease others or to make one’s self feel they are part of a big organization that has some kind of goal beyond what is ordinary.
Children should be taught what ‘The Sign of The Cross’ means, and Its responsibilities beyond what the words say. Christianity is a way of life and bears in it the Goal of Sainthood. It is not being taught in the correct manner.
There are so many false prophets making a monetary living off of those who are deliberately searching for something, someone, to give them the strength to endure the disappointments, the trials, the pressures, the weaknesses of human life. It is important that the correct instruction be transmitted in understandable ways, so that Christianity is seen for What God Intended It To Be: a means, a manner, and a mode, a code for daily living. So be it.”
