“Scandal in itself is a terrible scar to individuals, families, friends, businesses. Even people in the outer rim of such scandal are affected by its very existence. Should we ignore it, hide it, or face it? Will covering up, whitewashing it, make it go away, or will it automatically simmer, fester, and one day cause it to be worse?

It is a tremendous responsibility to choose what is right, what is wrong, when it deals with Souls. Is protection of the perpetrator of the utmost importance to save face? Not necessarily, not when there can be destruction to lives, mentally, emotionally, physically. No man or woman has the right, the justification to permit misconduct, unkindness, immorality of any nature, to people of any age.

Awareness, honesty in our daily practice of dealing with our Faith in God, our daily mental and physical responsibilities, our goals, should all be based on sound moral values and sound moral standards. We cannot expect to gain our Goal of Heaven if we live with sets of double values and double standards.

As Roman Catholics we must look realistically at what keeps the Roman Catholic Church from falling. How it was meant to be structured in the beginning obviously had sound direction, but in the course of being interpreted, allowed a lot of infidels and self-righteous, power-loving leaders to dilute the formula, at first using all they could to hold the attention of people and to elaborate on the importance of the obedience the congregations should comply with, and what the congregations’ obligations were and are to agree with, be obedient to, and support the decisions of the so-called Hierarchy.

Now we come to what really keeps the Roman Catholic Church from falling. It is definitely not the Hierarchy; it is the Faith of the people. It is an ingrained feeling that God has instilled within their Souls to believe in the Importance of what Christ gave and nurtured, in spite of the hypocrisies, the heresies that some men in the Church condone and nurture and use to gain status in the positions of importance.

Your Faith, my Faith is in the sound realism that God would give us the Foundation for our Faith, and it is He Who nurtures it according to the degree of our own intelligence and our own ability.

We cannot allow anyone or anything to corrupt our Faith, nor can we allow anyone to sidetrack us into believing that our religion needs so much freedom of personal and impersonal humanistic participation, that we lose sight of the Basic Foundation that Christ laid down when He was on the earth.

God gave us The Rules, His Commands. What a Loving God we have, what a Protective God we have. The Rules also were and are meant for the men who serve in Holy Mother Church, not just the flock, the congregations. As we must obey These Rules, so must they. If our sins are detrimental to the Salvation of our Souls, so are theirs.

We are not animals to be led to the slaughter. We are human beings. We have Souls. We must never allow ourselves to become duped into agreeing with double standards, with double values, with corrupt ideas or ideals, to cater to any debasement of our Souls.

Many Roman Catholics agree with whatever a priest does or commands to be positively the way. No matter what they say, we must stand up to them when we know they are wrong. We must never forget that no one will be standing with us before God, for the Judgment of our Souls.”
