Circle of Light - Halo

“A circle of light, a halo around statues, alert us to the importance of Who this statue represents. It calls our attention to the statue, and in its very presence, triggers an association to something and Someone special.

If the statue represents Our Lord, it gives special meaning to the portrayal of the statue, signifying the particular role of direction this statue means for us to think about, such as The Sacred Heart, and many other such Titles that we associate with Christ.

All the statues of Our Blessed Mother, bearing the halo, magnify the statue’s importance regarding the particular Vision connected to this statue, or the importance of this statue connected to specific intentions.

When the halo appears over the head of a Saint, it gives special meaning because it reminds us of the Purpose God has for all of us: Sainthood.

What happened to this beautiful reminder of such Greatness and such opportunity?”
