“I am Saint Bernadette. I have been requested to speak on the importance of the youth throughout the world. It is sad to see so many being neglected because of the lack of example that is obviously present in homes, in schools, and in many workplaces where the young are present, perhaps working at a job or doing some type of social activity that involves them with other people.
It is not necessary to have strong disciplinary actions to instruct the young on what is moral, what is immoral, what is important to God, what is important to the enemy of God and man. The educational process that is taking place, so many places, has little evidence of instruction to those who are attending, because so much freedom of speech, impoliteness, a lack of dignity is exercised by so many in schools and other educational places.
Freedom of thought, ideas, when it is balanced by morality, has an effect on the individual young people that is not always seen immediately, because a youngster learns by imitating, and the reason it is not always seen immediately is because perhaps the occasion for a specific attitude, action is not suited to the place or the time.
It is one thing for a youngster to learn Mathematics, History, English, and all the subjects that will be part of their way of life, but the greatest subject youngsters can be taught is to first see example of, and then the instructions regarding it, and then the application of it, and that is regarding the moral views, acceptances, practices, that will give great strength to everything else they learn, they practice, they are involved in.
Besides the academics, let us look at the physical activities that so many youngsters truly enjoy. In these activities alone, respect for each other, respect for themselves, respect for how they participate, will leave a mark on them for the rest of their lives morally, physically, emotionally, because every act, every thought, everything an individual learns, interacts with each other. All these things make an individual a more respectable, respected human being, and a happier human being because of the integrity involved, and the respect that it takes to respond to others, and have others respond to them in dignity.
When a child feels ill, a child of any age, sincerity, concern should register from those around, but always with an attitude that gives hope, strength, purpose, and along with this is a teaching of kindness that reflects in every act, every thought, every word, every deed, every mood, every intention. It is not difficult for those who are close to the child or children; in fact, it gives strength to everyone involved, moral, physical, Spiritual.
It is easy to talk about children, it is easy to instruct children when the individual or individuals find compassion with each other, interest in what is being done, respect even when mistakes are made. So much of this unity, or union of communication is being tossed to the side, because everyone seems to think it is not necessary, times have changed. This is not so. Human dignity will always be necessary between two or more human beings. So be it.”
