“Sometimes, when I speak through this woman in the world, children of all ages listen. Sometimes they anticipate what will be spoken. Sometimes they do not feel that what is spoken is in agreement with how they feel, how they can act, and what their faces can reveal. But I, Saint Teresa of Avila say, ‘In My day we had many hardships, many decisions to make of right and wrong, and sometimes in the convent we disagreed, and then we would sit down and discuss it, and then the one in charge would say, “The rule is this way, we will obey it accordingly.”’
Tonight I speak to you, not as firmly as I used to speak to the girls who walked with me one day, but I speak to you in honesty, love, hope, sincerity, and I repeat the Words, ‘Do not have feet of clay.’ Stand firm on what you know is right, but stand in truth in what you know is correct for you to do.
A lack of charity does many things. It destroys the hope, the love, the sincerity in other people. But when you express an openness, a love, a concern, you do not have to become emotional, ethereal, over-zealous, but politeness goes a long way. It was one of the things I requested in the convent where all of us would have our times, at dinner, recreation, prayer, and in other ways: charity to each other, respect.
These things develop many things when they are shown, not just in example, but in action to each other, and with a gentleness, genteelness, that is appropriate at that time, for that reason, for that purpose, because without it failure comes easy, quickly, and it is difficult to restore hope when failure is evident in so many ways.
You are Blessed, My daughters. You are Blessed with the Spirit of Life, the Spirit of Hope, the Spirit of Light, and do not forget, the Spirit of Example which, in Its own way extends from you to hand to others the way. So be it.”
