“Man says: ‘I want to reach God, I want to communicate in a closer union with Him. How do I do this?’ Let all men know this Revelation. Let all men have It in their vision.

First, an examination of conscience each day. Man says, ‘What is conscience?’ I, Saint Joseph, say, ‘Conscience is your right and wrong; your knowledge of it, how you handle it and what you do about it, how you control it, how you change it, how you develop all right in it.’

After a thorough examination of conscience, using the Ten Commandments as the guideline, develop a prayer motion. Have definite, individual progressive prayers, some written by other men, some by you. Fit the prayers you want to say to what your life is, how you are, what your aim contains.

Accept, in an individual, personal love, The Holy Eucharist from Above. Make it an event, not just a habit. It is necessity, for when you receive each day The Body and Blood of Christ, It feeds the Spiritual needs, the Spiritual way, the Spiritual growth that must be yours each day. It makes the physical strong and helps you know right from wrong.

The Holy Rosary has a power on its own. It resembles a definite prayer, a chain of love from you to Here. It carries a power, it carries Grace, it carries obedience to Our Lady Who stands Here, anxious to hear each word you say.

You would not omit visiting those you love. You would not let a day pass by, if you cared for someone, that you did not wonder or think of in a loving way, many times extending a hand, a word, a step their way. So, why not approach the House of God and visit Him in silence and in love? Ah yes, a form of prayer this is for you from Heaven Up Above.

Children seek definite prayers. I suggest The Divine Praises1 for they cover many things. They make you think, they cause you to praise, they cause you to be alerted to The Divine in many ways.

Here I place before you a pattern for you each day. Follow through and do each thing I did say.”

1 The Divine Praises are a set of 14 acclamations to give glory to God. Written in 1797 by Father Luis Felici, they were originally intended as reparation for blasphemy and profane language against God.
